In Denmark the churches stand for a rich and continuous tradition of using contemporary art and craft while renewing artifacts, furniture and textiles.
I work in close cooperation with the church board. I develop sketches which are presented and accepted before the production of the textiles.
If working with tapestries is like playing a solo trumpet, working with ecclesiastical textiles is playing second violin in a visual symphony orchestra.
My ambition is to create works that fit into the context and represent the present.
