                                        Art – Industry – Museum

Solo show at Design Museum Denmark, December 2004 through February 2005

The exhibition was built upon a thematic construct dictated by the name of the museum at the time: Art Industry Museum

Art: The unexpected, the unique and ambiguous

Industry: The mechanical, the anonymous and repetitive

Museum: The chosen, the accumulated and preserved

The basic materials of the exhibit were anonymous designed objects and tools that had been gathered from an abandoned industrial site. The dimensions of the objects ranged from small and fragile parts to imposing and bulky ones.

The industrial objects were originally produced with a view to the mechanical, anonymous and predictable. In the exhibit they were elevated to installations which challenged the space and experience of the body’s scale via blowups, miniature and textures.

The exhibition became a frontier region of ambiguity between art, industry and the museum’s own character as well as a landscape of form, accumulation, light and sound.

At the same time, the intention was to form a unified three-dimensional image in which the visitor him- or herself became a compositional element.

At the furthest end of the space a large inflated volume functioned as a video screen against the back wall.
